Description:

Way to go Kids is an 8 week programme which targets youths between the ages of 9 and 14 years who are overweight or obese.  The programme has run in the City and County.  The programme involves parents and children all getting involved in the eight week programme focusing on activity and nutrition.

The pilot programmes in Limerick City and County were facilitated by experienced dieticians and physical activity co-coordinators who work with both parent and child in a supportive environment to develop healthy eating habits and make physical activity easy. The main aim of this program is to support the young person to stop further weight gain while maintaining normal growth and development.
