Description:

The data contains numbers of births, age-specific birth rates per 1,000 females by mother’s age, marital status and sex of infant.

The birth rate is calculated as the number of live births divided by the total female population in that age-group, multiplied by 1,000. For the “all ages” category, the total female population aged 15-49 is used in the calculation of the rates.

The data cover the years from 1980 to 2011. For 2011, year of registration data are used; for all previous years, statistics are based on year of occurrence.
