NIPPA - The Early Years Organisation is the largest voluntary organisation working with the under 12s and their families in Northern Ireland. Founded as an independent organisation in 1965 NIPPA's membership of 900 groups includes playgroups, parent & toddler group, creches, full day care nurseries and afterschool provision. Over 30,000 children under 12 attend NIPPA groups on a daily basis. NIPPA is a cross community, anti-sectarian, non-political organisation. NIPPA promotes playbased quality learning environments for young children, partnerships with parents and other agencies, equal opportunities for children and adults, a co-ordinated and holistic approach to young children's learning and development, a focus on family support and a commitment to high quality training opportunities for all those working with young children. NIPPA increasingly is working on an all Ireland basis through High/Scope Ireland and the Cross-Border Rural Childcare Project.
