Type: Report
Region: United Kingdom
Description:

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Mapping (CAMHS) has proved to be a valuable tool in tracking progress towards the objective of comprehensive CAMHS available to all. Although there is clearly still much to do. Overall, the year-on-year comparisons between 2004 and 2005 are very encouraging and reflect a picture of genuine service improvement. However, despite these improvements there are still considerable variations across England in the availability of different aspects of service and the length of wait to access them. CAMHS Mapping makes these differences transparent and is therefore a useful tool to drive up standards in those areas that most need to improve.
