HRB Centre for Health and Diet Research

The HRB Centre for Health and Diet Research is a leading research hub in Public Health Nutrition focused on promoting the health and wellbeing of the Irish population.  The purpose of the Centre is to inform public policy, health promotion, clinical practice and the citizen on the prevention and management of obesity, diabetes and related metabolic disorders.

Following the completion of a very successful Phase One work programme, the Centre is now beginning Phase Two, the objectives of which will be addressed via the following Work Packages:

  • WP1 – Disease burden and population health modelling
  • WP2 – Exposure and outcome measurement in public health nutrition
  • WP3 – Diet, obesity and health across the life-course
  • WP4 – Interventions in public health nutrition
  • WP5 – Evaluation frameworks in public health nutrition
  • WP6 – Knowledge transfer and dissemination
