Harris will not be home alone for Paddy’s Day

06 Mar 2017

The Minister for Health will not join the majority of his Cabinet colleagues as they jet off on their annual St Patrick’s Day visits around the world.

Instead, Minister Simon Harris will be remaining at home for the holiday, together with Minister for Transport Shane Ross and Communications Minister Denis Naughten. However, Minister Harris’ colleagues in the Department of Health will be travelling to Argentina, Hungary/the Czech Republic and Scotland.

Minister of State for Health Promotion Marcella Corcoran Kennedy is due to visit Budapest and Prague, while Minister of State with responsibility for Mental Health and Older People Helen McEntee will travel to Argentina. The remaining Minister at Hawkins House — Disabilities Minister Finian McGrath — will visit Edinburgh, Scotland.

The Taoiseach, Tánaiste and 27 Ministers and Ministers of State are taking part in various business events and high-level political meetings in 27 countries and 50-plus cities over the national holiday.
