60UNDERSTANDING THE PHENOMENOLOGY OF ADMISSIONS IN PATIENTS WITH PARKINSON’S DISEASE TO THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, TO DRIVE SERVICE DEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY

Introduction: Patients with idiopathic Parkinson’s disease (iPD) may be unexpectedly admitted to the Emergency Department (ED) with acute illness or other health problems. An understanding of the factors associated with these attendances, including diagnoses and outcomes, could inform service design and provision. In particular, identification of recurrent attendees would enhance patient care and safety, and potentially reduce complications.
