Two year report on progress against Northern Ireland’s obesity prevention strategy published

It has been two years since the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) Northern Ireland launched ‘A Fitter Future for All 2012-2022’.  The Framework aims to; empower the population of Northern Ireland to make healthy choices, reduce the risk of overweight and obesity related diseases and improve health and well-being, by creating an environment that supports a physically active lifestyle and a healthy diet. Good progress has been made over the past two years, as outlined in the two-year progress report.  Launching the report, the Health Minister for Northern Ireland, Jim Wells reiterated his commitment and drive to tackle the prevalence of overweight and obesity.
