Ireland’s first purpose-built centre dedicated to the prevention of cardiovascular disease and stroke opens in Galway

The aim of the Croí Heart and Stroke Centre is to develop a centre of excellence for the prevention of, and recovery from heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.  Inspiration is taken from a number of ‘health and wellbeing centres’, popular in the US.  The centre is completely community based and led and funded through the fundraising efforts of Croí heart and stroke charity.  A multi-disciplinary team is on hand at the centre working with people at risk of, or recovering from heart and stroke events.
