Community Profiles

dublin street

Community Profiles is part of The Health Well website which is managed by the Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) with the co-operation of key organisations throughout the island.

Community Profiles is based on a set of over 160 health-related indicators that have been compiled for every administrative county in RoI and every Local Government District (LGD) in NI. It also gives you access to details of interventions, policies, other data, evidence and news items related to each of these indicators.

Open the Community Profiles with a blank table or open it with one of the themes below.

With Community Profiles you can create and save materials for local or national profiles:

  • Profile tables of individual indicators or groups of indicators relating to specific themes such as Obesity, Mental Health, etc - that cover up to two areas (along with RoI and NI)
  • Further details (data issues, public health importance and policy context) about each indicator
  • Details, drawn from the Health Well website, of interventions, policies, other data, evidence, news, etc related to each indicator
  • Details of more complex analyses you can undertaken using The Health Well's data tools.

The indicactor set, known as the All-Ireland Health and Well-being Dataset (AIHWDS), was compiled and is regularly updated by Ireland and Northern Ireland’s Population Health Observatory (INIsPHO) within IPH.
